Traveler reviews
Everything—from the birds to the views, the room, the food, and the staff—was excellent. I will never forget my time here, and the incredible trails rich in a wide variety of plant species (bromeliads, orchids, ferns, and more) and wildlife. I am eternally grateful for the experience I had here at Wayqecha.

Magnificent birds with wonderful dawn choruses of chachalacas, jays, and many other species. Beautiful macaws in the late afternoon. It is hard to find a lodge anywhere with such lovely rooms, a super friendly and helpful staff, and incredibly good food. Highly recommended.

We were not disappointed! Without even trying to make a list, we enjoyed ~ 300 species of birds (plus another 30 species that are only heard or not seen well enough to count) and 20 mammals (of which ten were primates)! Among those many species were some significant regional specialties, unique and spectacular creatures.
